Top Reasons to Treasure Your Friends!

We Heart It

Hi everyone,
So in life we all have those special people who guide us through hard times. Who help us up when we fall. Who laugh and cry with us. Who take the mick out of us, occasionally, haha! And who are those special people? Our friends!

I feel lucky and privileged to have so many amazing, loyal, loving friends. My best friend, whom I have known for over three years, is one in a million; everything we do together is fun, even though normally those things wouldn't be too exciting! She gets upset when I do and we help each other out of sticky situations. Our personalities match, even down to our star signs (if you believe in that sort of stuff) : as I previously mentioned I am a Sagittarius, well she is a Leo. As a person she is kind, caring and helpful! Although she is a bit shy before you really get to know her, in front of me she shows her other side - a funny and outgoing side! If you're reading this ily Irene <3 x

There is also my school squad. The longest I've known someone in it for is a year and a half, yet they are all so sweet, trustworthy and supportive! These friends are amazing and I know that they, too, will be my best friends for life!

But sometimes things go wrong. This could be due to an argument, or maybe either of you or your friend has made a mistake leading the other to become angry. And, on both sides, this can hurt, a lot. Therefore, I wanted to make a blog post about reasons to treasure your friends.

1. You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends. This makes them extra-special as they make you feel good in a whole new way!
2. It's not about how long you have known them for. I have a kind-of-friend I have known for over two years, and a best friend I have known for seven months, who just walked into my life and said "Hey, I'll be a best friend!" That kind of friend, who has a personality that just harmonises with yours, is the best you could possibly find.
3. True friends will stick up for you, no matter what. If the rest of the world turns against you, at least that one friend will stay by your side.
4. Friends trigger our empathy, helping us take putting ourselves in each other's shoes to a new level! That friend will, quite literally, become a part of you. Your goals, hopes, dreams and resources are shared.
5. "Talking to your best friend is sometimes all the therapy we need" - Recent studies have proven we have five close friends we go to in need of help. These friends will know all about you, from what irritates you the most to your hidden talents. Listen to their advice, before it's too late!

6. "As we grow up we don't lose friends, we just find out who our real ones are" - True friends are so special, keep them close and don't be afraid to ditch fakers. Don't let a relationship like this just fade out!
7. "Friendship is not a big thing... it's a million little things" - I love this quote, and totally agree! I have so many happy memories with friends and smile at every one individually.
8. "Best friends are people you don't need to talk to every single day. You don't need to talk to each other for weeks, but when you do, it's as if you'd never stopped talking." - Says it all!

Advice: How to Deal With Cyber-bullying

Hi guys, hope you’re having a great day!So, today’s post is a lot more serious – it’s going to be advice on how to deal with cyber bullying. I think I forgot to mention in my previous post that I will probably be doing some advice-type stuff on my blog, but I think it’s a good idea to try and spread positive messages across the Internet.
As most of us know, being bullied in the flesh is terrible; it’s like a hell that you can’t escape from, like being trapped inside a locked cupboard. But online? That can be a million times worse. Gosh, in real life the bullies are usually just sad losers who have nothing better to do with their lives, and yet online things can get way more personal. Even people who never speak much in real life go flying straight off the handle on the Internet – often anonymously.
What about the stats? Well, around half of teens have been victims of cyber-bullying; only 1 in 10 of these teens tell their parents about the incident; girls are at least as likely as boys to be the victim/bully; 3 million kids are absent per month due to bullying; 20% of people being cyber-bullied consider suicide; and cyber-bullying concerns rose by 87% in 2013 alone.
So, you’ve probably had so many lectures at school about how dangerous the online world can be, and although the advice teachers give you is 100% valid and should be followed, today I’m going to clear this whole business up a bit for you by telling you about a REAL-LIFE cyber-bullying incident and what the victim could/should have done to protect herself and put a stop to it.
13 year-old Megan had ADD, and in the past had suffered from depression and weight problems. One day a teenage boy whom she didn’t know, Josh, requested to follow her on MySpace. She agreed, and every day after school she would talk to him. He made her happy, telling her she was pretty; he said he was home schooled and had no access to mobiles, therefore she never met him or heard his voice.
However, things took a turn for the worse. Josh and some other teenagers began to post horrible comments about her on the website. But Megan fired back with vulgar language, making her mum shocked at her: the next morning her parents found her, having hanged herself in the closet just before turning fourteen.
What should Megan have done? Well, firstly she shouldn't have accepted Josh's friend request, as he could have been anyone! By doing this, she was opening a virtual door and letting him walk around inside her world.
Also, she shouldn't have talked to him. You wouldn't talk to strangers in real life, so why online? When Josh and his friends started upsetting her, she should have firstly NOT retaliated. Then she should have told her parents or other responsible adult; she could block the bullies and report them to the social network.
               More tips:
1. Keep your profile private.
2. Don't tag photos with a location.
3. Don't arrange to meet up with someone you met online.
4. Don't give strangers personal details.
5. Make sure you save evidence of cyber bullying to show an adult.
6. It's best to use a nickname rather than a real name on social networks.
7. Don't post pictures of yourself you wouldn't be happy with showing your parents. Think before you post!
8. Install an antivirus program and never click on weird links in emails etc!

Love you guys!

10 Facts About Me

 Hello everyone,
This is my very first blog post, so I thought I'd do something quite laid back, 10 facts about me. A lot of YouTubers have done this! I hope you enjoy it - and be sure to come back later this week for another post, as I will be posting on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
1. I am an (incredibly random) average girl living in England, but my mum is Bulgarian and my dad is Australian!

2. My star sign is Sagittarius as I am born in mid- December. For some reason I'm obsessed with horoscopes and I seem to match my horoscopes - apparently Sagittarians (?) are meant to be extroverted, free, intelligent, happy, funny, honest, fair, arrogant (not sure about that one), clumsy (DEFINITELY), rebel, bored easily (YES), sensitive, quick-tempered and loud.

3. I love music - I sing, play piano, guitar and ukulele, sometimes write songs. (You will probably be annoyed by the amount of song lyrics/poems I post.)

4. As well as writing songs I also occasionally write stories. You might be hearing some of my shorter ones.

5. I am the QUEEN of weird food combos. Don't ask.

6. I love YouTube: my OTP is Zalfie and I have a Zoella fan account on Instagram: retro_zoella_lover. Go check it out.

7. This blog is where I'll post random stuff: my life experiences (God that makes me sound old), as I said, songs and stuff, how-tos and maybe some reviews and stuff.

8. My favourite singer is Ed Sheeran but I also like Sam Smith etc.

9. I LOVE RETRO. Everything retro: clothes, music, films, you name it. Especially the 1950s.

10. My favourite colour is purple but I also love pastel colours ATM.
